Long Haul Driver

Department: Dot Transportation Canada, Inc.
Reports To: Director of Transportation

Your Role

Operate commercial tractor trailer with a max GVWR of 80,000lbs, to and from set locations. 

  • Safely and efficiently operate equipment
  • Comply with all company, legal and regulatory requirements
  • Meet established company goals
  • Read and understand driver load paperwork
  • Perform other duties as required
Role Specifics

In this role, you will also:

  • Work in all weather conditions 
  • Drive, sit, walk and stand as required by the job
  • Perform regular, physical activity including lifting up to 25 KG on a regular basis
We Need You To Have
  • Class 1 or A license with Z Endorsement
  • A clean abstract
  • A minimum of 12-months experience as an AZ driver
  • Medical examiner certificate
  • Ability to read, speak, and comprehend the English language
We’d Like You To Have
  • Previous long haul driving experience in Canada

  • Haz Mat Certification

Customer Delivery Driver

Department: Dot Transportation, Inc.
Reports To: Director of Transportation

Your Role

Our delivery drivers primarily deliver products to Dot Foods customers and pick-up from Dot suppliers.  This is an all dock-delivery and pick-up position.  We do not have ramps or two-wheel carts!  In this position you will:

 

  • Safely and efficiently operate equipment
  • Comply with all company, legal and regulatory requirements
  • Meet established company goals
  • Read and understand driver load paperwork
  • Perform other duties as required

Shunter

Department: Dot Transportation, Inc.
Reports To: Director of Transportation

Your Role

 A trailer spotter / yard jockey at Dot Transportation is responsible for safely and efficiently spotting trailers on the yard or at the dock door per instructions from the operations clerks.

 

  • Safely and efficiently drives trailers between pads, doors and buildings on a timely basis.
  • Slides tandems effectively to meet state bridge laws.
  • Accurately weighs loaded trailers.
  • Inspects spotter tractor, performs basic maintenance and fueling, and reports equipment problems
  • Checks refrigerator unit operations to ensure adequate product and temperature ntegrity.
  • Perform lot and /or yard checks
  • Applies lean thinking and tools to identify and eliminate waste in all areas of the position.
  • Transfer trailers between Ingersoll and the DOT Terminal yard in the GTA as needed.
Role Specifics

Schedule – Full-time – Specific schedule TBD

Work Environment – Temperature extremes (summer and winter conditions) working in both indoor and outdoor weather conditions.

We Need You To Have
  • High school diploma or General Equivalency Degree.
  • Ability to pass physical abilities test to meet standards of job and DOT requirements
  • Sufficient hearing and vision necessary to operate powered equipment safely
  • Safe driving record
We’d Like You To Have
  • Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with HAZMAT Endorsement.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, safety-sensitive environment
